Centre For Women’s Health

Aims:
Offers counselling and emotional support to women who can self refer or be referred. Generic counselling on eating disorders and lesbian health. Time limited and ongoing counselling. This is a women only service.

- Generic and specialised counselling
Access:
- Building is fully accessible – disabled parking nearby
- Multi lingual service – Urdu and Punjabi spoken, though first contact to the project must be in English
- Female interpreter by arrangement

Sappho Lesbian Health Service

Aims:
A lesbian health service offering support and ongoing counselling. A woman only service.
Services:
- Well woman service
- Sexual health advice and reproductive health care
- Counselling

Hours:
Support at the Centre for Women’s Health available on Tuesday evenings. Wellwoman screening available in Family Planning monthly on a Thursday morning.

To provide outreach counselling to women who have been, or are currently involved in prostitution.

- One to one confidential counselling

Genitourinary Medicine & Sexual Health Services at The Sandyford Initiative

Aims:
To provide information, advice and medical services on all sexually transmitted infections including HIV and related issues.
Services:
- Reliable and timely testing for sexual infections, antibiotic prophylaxis and Hep B vaccinations where appropriate
- Counselling with health advisors for women and men who have been sexually assaulted or abused
- HIV testing
- Advocacy in accessing other services within Sandyford and beyond.

Aims:
A public lending library within the Sandyford Initiative working in partnership with Glasgow City Libraries and NHS Libraries. It provides a wide range of information and resources for women and men (including violence and abuse) plus FREE internet access.
Services:
- Wide range of books, DVDs, journals
- Selection of information leaflets to take away
- Database of local groups and organisations
- Specialist collections including violence, abuse, LGBT issues, eating disorders
- Women’s information library within the Centre for Women’s Health

To provide comprehensive, confidential sexual and reproductive health services to young people under 18 years of age, in an informal setting. Women and girls can contact the service or be referred by other agencies.

To provide family planning and reproductive health services within Sandyford Initiative.
Services:
- Contraception and emergency contraception
- Pregnancy testing and pre-pregnancy counselling
- Pre and post termination of pregnancy counselling and referral
- Fertility advice
- Smear tests / coloscopy
- Incest, rape, sexual abuse counselling and referral
- Sterilisation counselling and referral
- Specialist clinics – menopause, vasectomy, sexual problems
- Gender issues
- Natural family planning
