Research

The research pages are still under development but we anticipate that they will include:

• Recently published research on gender-based violence.
• Information about current research being undertaken by the partnerhip, its partners or other agencies.

• Links to websites of relevant research organisations/ publishers including the Scottish Executive and Home Office.

GVAWP have been active in raising awareness about the links between violence against women and child protection issues. Both GVAWP and the ‘Keeping Children and Young People Safe’ group of the interagency structures for planning children’s services in Glasgow saw the need to research the impact of domestic abuse on children and young people, map out what support services are available for them in Glasgow and identify the current issues and gaps in service responses. A Multi-agency Action Plan for the city is being developed for implementation in Spring 2006, based on a literature review, recommendations from the mapping exercise conducted over 2004/05 and initial discussions between the relevant organisations.
